We are moving on. We are no longer posting on Twitter / X

We have officially stopped posting on our X account

After much thought, we’ve decided to stop posting on X. While it has been an important space for connecting with many of our supporters, it’s time for us to focus our efforts elsewhere.

For years, Twitter (now known as X) has been a place where we’ve connected, shared ideas, and worked together to advance our mission and support disability justice. However, recent changes in the platform’s leadership, policies, and overall direction have led us to reassess our presence there.

After careful consideration, we’ve decided to leave X and transition to Bluesky.

Why we are leaving X

In recent months, Twitter has undergone significant changes under Elon Musk’s leadership, many of which have raised serious concerns for disability justice activists. As a platform that once provided a vital space for connection, activism, and access, Twitter has increasingly become inaccessible and harmful.

It has also become a platform full of hatred, harmful narratives and Elon Musk’s worldview on people using the platform.

Disability justice is rooted in interdependence, community care, and equity. Twitter’s current direction contradicts these principles. We believe in creating and supporting spaces where everyone feels valued and heard.

Why Bluesky?

Bluesky is increasingly becoming a preferred alternative for many disability justice activists and organisations because it aligns better with principles of accessibility and equity. It’s a platform where meaningful conversations can thrive without the toxic dynamics that have taken hold elsewhere. We believe it’s a better space for fostering genuine connections and advancing our shared goals.

What this means for you

While we will no longer post updates or engage on X, we shall be active on Bluesky, as well as our other channels shared below:

Thank you for your support

To everyone who has engaged with us on X over the years, thank you. Your support and interactions have been invaluable, and we look forward to continuing our journey with you in spaces that better align with our mission.

Let’s move forward together, fostering a community built on respect, collaboration, and ethical principles.
