A beloved colleague.
Everyone at ADD International is devastated by the sad and shocking news that our dear and beloved colleague, Subodh Das from ADD Bangladesh passed away this week, after being recently diagnosed positive with COVID-19.
Our thoughts and deepest condolences go out to his family, colleagues and all who knew him. We have lost a wonderful friend and colleague in Subodh. He was the Bangladesh Head of Programmes since 2014 and his calm and assured presence in the team was such a key factor in ADD Bangladesh’s growth over these past few years. Everyone who met Subodh was touched by his kindness, his commitment for inclusion, and his passion for equality. Subodh was truly dedicated to working above and beyond to ensure the rights of people with disabilities are realised – which was very humbling to work alongside.
Everyone that worked with Subodh respected him deeply for his incredible knowledge and skills, his profound commitment and the enormous impact that he had on so many lives. Everyone that knew him loved him for his ready humour, endless patience and warm human kindness. Subodh worked so well with others – always trying to find a how through any situation – never giving up that we could all find common ground in our vision for an inclusive society.
The world has lost a gracious, kind, warm and intelligent man. We will never forget all that Subodh did and stood for within our organisation, and as a human being.
We have been inundated with messages of condolence this week from colleagues around the world, and they all tell the story of how much Subodh was held in high esteem within our organisation and the wider sector.
We will do our best to uphold his memory and continue the fine work that Subodh led from the front – it would be the greatest respect we could pay to such a respectful and respected man.
