Chris Gillies has been Chair of ADD since 1996 and has been on the board since 1989. He is Director of Zurich Assurance Ltd, Managing Director of Zurich Intermediary Group Ltd. and Chair of the Zurich Financial Services Community Trust (UK).

Liz Goold joined the board of ADD in 2000. She is an independent organisational development consultant working with international NGOs/donor agencies in Africa, Asia and Europe.

Ravi Narayanan has been a trustee of ADD since 2000.  Now retired, Ravi was previously Chief Executive of WaterAid and before that the Asia Director of ActionAid.

Agnes Kalibbala has been on ADD’s board since 2003.  Previously Agnes was ADD’s Country Representative for the Uganda programme and is currently the Deputy Head of Mission for the Uganda High Commission in Nairobi, Kenya.

Sebenzile Matsebula has been a trustee of ADD since 1995. In 2005 Sebe joined the African Access Company as an executive director responsible for Communications of the Group. Previously she was the Director of the Office of the Status of Disabled Persons, the Presidents Office, South Africa.

Saghir Alam is a Disability Rights Commissioner - UK.  He has knowledge of international development and governance and is a lawyer at Sharif & Co. Solicitors.  Saghir is a patron of the Ethnic Disabled Children’s Society and a Special Advisor for Connecting for Development, a national organisation promoting international development issues sponsored by DFID. 

Clare Evans has a personal commitment to and understanding of disability as a human rights issue.  She is a manager at Leonard Cheshire Disabled People’s Forum and is a trustee of Wiltshire and Swindon Community Foundation.  Clare was awarded an M.B.E. in 2003 for services to disabled people in Wiltshire. She has written extensively on independent living and the social model of disability.

Charlie Massey has experience of the social model of disability through his work on pensions and is a senior civil servant with extensive experience across Whitehall in developing and delivering complex policy and strategy.  He currently works in the Department for Work and Pensions and is very interested in international development which originally had been his chosen career path.

Nigel Emson has been co-opted as ADD's Treasurer for one year (May 2008 - May 2009).  Nigel is a qualified accountant working at Zurich Assurance Ltd. and Chairs Zurich's charitable trust overseas grant committee.

We have a target of at least 50% of our trustees being women and at least 50% disabled people. Of the nine trustees serving five are men and four are women. 

Four of our trustees are disabled people, and three are from Africa and Asia.
