Isaac Kute steps down as CEO
December 2007

Isaac Kute announced that he is stepping down as Chief Executive Officer on December 31st 2007.

Isaac Kute commented:
It has been an enormous pleasure and privilege to work with ADD.  For a while now, I have been reflecting on different priorities in my life.  ADD is now at a turning point, having completed a very comprehensive and successful organizational review.   Having led ADD through this organization review, it seemed timely to take stock and consider focussing on other aspects of our lives that my family and I feel are important.  ADD is driven by the commitment, energy and passion of its entire staff.  We have done great things together and I am confident that the ADD team is well positioned to continue with the important work of supporting disabled people in Africa and Asia.

Chris Gillies, Chair of ADD, said:
As Chair of the Trustees, I have worked closely with Isaac over the last two years and I’m saddened but respectful of Isaac’s decision to leave ADD.  Following the comprehensive and successful organization review process that Isaac led in 2007 with the full support of ADD trustees, we are now poised to address the challenges of the future having clearly identified the strategic priorities for the next period.  I am very grateful to Isaac for everything that he has done for ADD, and I wish him and his family well for the future.

Turning to the future, ADD’s trustees are currently considering succession arrangements and have appointed Jabulani Ncube to the role of Acting CEO from 1st January 2008 .  I am delighted that we have someone of Jabu’s calibre within our senior management team and look forward to working with him in his new role.
